- How do I attend an Admission Ceremony?

You will be automatically be invited to a ceremony. The ceremony you will be invited to depends on the date on your certificate:
- Certificates dated July - October 2024 - will be invited to Manchester 2025 ceremony.  (Invites will be being sent out in January 2025)
- Certificates dated November 2024 onwards will be invited to a later 2025 ceremonyÂ
- Do I have to pay to attend?

Fellows and Members being admitted at the ceremony do not need to pay to attend.
- Can I bring guests?

You will be able to bring up to four guests. You can purchase guest tickets on the booking form. The tickets include access to the drinks reception after the presentation. (Fees may increase in 2025 )
- Adult tickets - £40 per adult
- Children’s tickets - £20 per child (applicable to children aged 6-16 only)
- Children under the age of 6 can attend free of charge and you will be able to indicate how many under 6s you will be attending with on the registration form.
- What is the cancellation and refund policy for guest tickets if I am no longer able to attend?

- 10% administration fee for cancellations more than 30 days before the ceremony
- 50% refund for cancellation between 14-30 days before the ceremony
- No refunds for cancellations received within 14 days before the ceremony
- Can I postpone my Admission Ceremony?

If you cannot attend the ceremony you have been invited to, you can postpone your attendance to the next ceremony in the diary by expressing interest. Please also let us know you cannot attend by emailing us :Â events@rcpch.ac.uk
Please note we only allow a maximum of 3 postponements. This policy ensures fairness to all our members who are yet to be invited to a ceremony.
- What is the order of proceedings at an admission ceremony?

- Arrival: Fellows, Members arrive with their guests to collect their ceremony pack from the Events Team, collect their gown (if hired) and visit the photography room.
- Presentation ceremony commences in main hall: Once everyone is seated, the Ceremonial Officers will enter the hall and take the stage. Fellows and Members will be called forward in alphabetical order to receive their replica certificate from the RCPCH President.
- Drinks reception: When the presentation ends the drinks reception commences. There is a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as some canapes. You can also visit the photography room for professional photography.
- Will there be professional photography?

Yes. Fellows / Members and their guests will be able to have studio portraits taken before or after the presentation ceremony. The link to pre-book this can be found in your confirmation email once you register.
Fellows and Members will also be photographed whilst being presented on stage.
- Will there be gown hire?

You will be able to hire a gown from our supplier in advance and collect your gown at the venue on the day. It is not compulsory but most Fellows and Members to wear a gown. You can find the link to hire a gown in your registration confirmation email.
- Will I be sitting with my guests?

Fellows and Members have assigned seating (alphabetical by surname) and will be sitting separate from their guests. There is free seating for guests in the areas not assigned to Fellows / Members.
- What is the dress code?

- How can I get a support letter for my visa application?

If you are traveling from overseas the college will provide a visa support letter for you and any guests. You will find a link for this in your registration confirmation email once registered for the event.
This is also a reminder that in the event that the Admission Ceremony does need to be cancelled, a full refund of guest registration fees will be issued. We are unfortunately unable to refund any travel or accommodation expenses incurred in relation to this event if cancelled or postponed.
- Is the certificate I will be presented with the original?

No. The certificate you will be presented with at the ceremony will be a replica, this will not have your name or start date on it. The »Ê¼Ò»ªÈËTeam will have posted the original hard copy to all new Fellows and Members. If you do not have your original hard copy, please contact membership@rcpch.ac.uk.
- What happens if RCPCH has to cancel or postpone the event?

Should the Admission Ceremony be impacted in any way or should we need to cancel or postpone this event, we shall inform all registered attendees with as much notice as possible. In the event that the Admission Ceremony does need to be cancelled, a full refund of guest registration fees will be issued.
We are unfortunately unable to refund any travel or accommodation expenses incurred in relation to this event if cancelled or postponed.Â
