Nic was Officer for Workforce Planning and Health Services from June 2019 to summer 2022. She is a consultant paediatrician at Sheffield Children's Hospital specialising in allergy. She also leads a clinical network in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw and is a council member for the clinical senate of Yorkshire & Humber which gives impartial advice to clinicians.
After qualifying as a doctor in London (Royal Free Hospital MBBS, St Mary’s Hospital/Imperial BSc physiology) she trained in paediatrics across three regions (Nottingham, Sheffield and Birmingham) with post graduate qualifications in Health Care Leadership (MSc) as well as Ethics & Law (PgDip).
Nic is particularly interested in helping to create an NHS that unites across currently recognised boundaries to provide seamless care for all children that need health care. Part of this is supporting the role that Advanced Clinical Practitioners play in paediatric care. In 2018, she was part of a group that visited the United States of America to review best practise use of Physician Associates in paediatrics.
