Privacy notice - community paediatrics survey, Scotland 2024

RCPCH members in Scotland are invited to complete this voluntary survey by 30 September 2024. The data we collect will be used in RCPCH wider communications and advocacy work. We are looking to better understand community paediatrics, your experiences working in the community, the issues you may face in this work and the improvements you would like to see.

Who are we?Ìý

We are the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), 5-11 Theobalds Road, London, WC1X 8SH (telephone: +44 (0)20 7092 6000).

What information will we be collecting?Ìý

RCPCH run surveys to obtain information on your experiences and opinions. As part of this , we will not collect any identifiable information, but there are free-text boxes in which you could potentially enter information that could be used to identify you. ÌýAll the information collected will come from you and any identifiable data in free-text boxes will be redacted prior to publishing. Ìý

Why do we collect this information?

Completion of this survey is voluntary. However, we do encourage all individuals to submit data to enable us to better understand what community paediatrics look like across Scotland and to help shape our recommendations to Scottish Government and other bodies. By completing this survey, you are agreeing for the raw data that we collect, which includes personal information about yourself, to be used for the following purposes:

  • To get a picture of community paediatrics across Scotland;Ìý
  • Share the results in aggregated format with all RCPCH members, as part of a summary report and action plan.Ìý

Who might we share your information with?

Your responses will be stored securely on the RCPCH network and only accessed by RCPCH staff. Your personal data will not be transferred outside of the EU.Ìý

We will never publish raw data. If we want to publish data, any data that could be used to identify you will be removed or changed and only anonymised data will be used.Ìý

Transferring information outside of the UK

To provide some products and services we, or our data processors, may transfer and process information in countries outside of the UK. Some of these countries, such as those in the EEA, will have an officially recognised equivalent level of protection to the UK (adequacy decision). A list of these countries can be found . Where there is no adequacy decision, we will take all reasonable steps necessary to ensure that your information is protected by having in place a recognised safeguard with our partners and suppliers, such as regulatory approved UK International Transfer Agreements, Binding Corporate Rules or Codes of Conduct.Ìý

What rights do I have?

You have several rights in relation to the data we process about you:

  1. You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you.
  2. You have the right to change any factual errors or inaccuracies.
  3. You can ask that we restrict the processing of your personal data so we only store it but undertake no further processing.
  4. You have the right to object to processing.Ìý

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.Ìý

All personal data will be processed in accordance with data protection legislation, and we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. We have measures in place to ensure your data is securely and safely stored. You do have the right to complain to the ICO if you have concerns about the way your personal data is being handled: casework@ico.org.uk.

How long do we keep hold of your information for?

The raw survey data will be kept until the report summary report has been approved and published. After this, we will only keep anonymous data that is necessary for historical or research purposes until it is no longer required for this purpose.Ìý
