With the changing situation we will review the details provided here from June/July.
The College is planning to mitigate the impact on trainee progression. We will publish guidance with further detail later this week.
We advise trainees with concerns to raise with their Head of School. You may also refer to last Friday's message for trainees from our VP for Training and Assessment, Dr David Evans.
We know that at this current time the uncertainties about what will happen around exams and training are causing considerable anxiety. We are working hard to provide clear positions on all aspects between ourselves and the training systems in the UK. Trainee welfare is very important to us and we hope that this notice provides some clarity at an uncertain time and will allow trainees to plan for the coming months while continuing to provide vital care to the public during these unprecedented and most challenging of times.
Examinations affected
Applied Knowledge in Paediatrics (AKP) - 13 May
The AKP exam scheduled for 13 May at test centres across the UK and internationally has been postponed.
We will prioritise all candidates booked for the May AKP for 16 September AKP exam date. We hope to provide some additional centres, and seats at current centres, for additional candidates that wish to book on.
The Exams team will email all booked AKP May exam candidates with more details as soon as possible. As all College staff are working remotely, it may take longer than normal to respond to enquiries and candidate responses to our updates. Please bear with us while we work through this. We will get to you as quickly as we can. If you have any questions regarding your exam or any associated concerns with exam progression, then please contact us and we will do our best to help you.
Foundation of Practice (FOP) / Theory and Science (TAS) - 17 June
The FOP/TAS exam scheduled to take place on 17 June 2020 at test centres across the UK and internationally has been postponed.
The next scheduled FOP/TAS exam is on 14 October. We will provide more information from June. Please see our page on how to apply to theory exams for more details nearer the time.
