RCPCH announces audit of emergency standards with new toolkit

Dr John Criddle, Chair of the RCPCH Intercollegiate Committee for Standards for Children in Emergency Care Settings, responds to the news.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health is announcing a national audit of Facing the Future: Standards for children in emergency care settings. For the first time, we have developed a new audit toolkit to accompany standards.

Dr John Criddle, Chair of the RCPCH Intercollegiate Committee for Standards for Children in Emergency Care Settings says:

This new audit toolkit is designed to support services to monitor how they are meeting standards. It will provide the RCPCH with a better understanding of how emergency care is provided to children across the UK and enable teams in emergency departments to plan improvements.

We will be working with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and other key organisations to ensure children in emergency departments across the UK receive safe, effective and high quality care.
