On 24 February 2021, we launched our Paediatrics 2040 project conclusions. Over a period of two years we collaborated with paediatricians, experts and young people across the UK to develop our vision for the future of paediatrics in the UK, focusing on four areas – data and evidence, impact of innovation, models of care, and working lives.Ìý
In 2020 we saw unprecedented changes in paediatric services as a result of COVID-19. In June 2020, we responded to the ongoing pandemic by publishing our first project report, Reimagining the future of paediatric care post-COVID-19 – a reflective report of rapid learning from the Paediatrics 2040 project team.Ìý
Through our two years of research, we’ve reached a number of conclusions across our four workstreams about what paediatric care might look like in 2040. As we think about life beyond COVID-19, we are now at a pivotal moment to change how paediatrics will look for the better over the next 20 years. Ultimately, we want to see a healthier future for all children and young people in the UK and beyond.Ìý
