In the summer, the Chancellor announced that he would be holding a Comprehensive Spending Review. These reviews set the budgets for government departments for three years, and make block grants to the devolved administrations.
Organisations were invited to make representations by the Treasury. The submission made by RCPCH argues that improving child health outcomes it key to levelling up the country, as this Government has stated is their central aim. We also used the opportunity to restate the priorities for Government we set out in State of Child Health 2020. You can read the full submission below.
Since we made this submission, the Government has announced that in light of COVID-19, this review will now only set budgets for the next 12 months. The review is due to be published by the Chancellor in late November 2020.
